The purpose of the Single System is to make opportunities for participants fair, equitable. and consistent. It is to ensure that a suitable level of coaching and competition is offered for people at the appropriate stage of their development and to maximise the chance they have of fulfilling their potential whether that potential is as a club or international player, coach or official.
If you think you have the potential to play at a high level or just want the chance to try Thirsk Hockey Club supports the England Hockey Board Single System and the Long Term Athlete Development Programme (LTAD).
Through coordination with our coaches we propose players suitable for Junior Development Centre (JDC) sub county level. There are approximately 130 centres nationwide and these are held for U13, U14, U15, U16 and U17. If you are successful at this level you will be selected for your closest Junior Academy Centre (JAC) county level.
There are 42 JAC’s nationwide and they are run at U13, U14, U15, U16 and U17.
Successful participants are then selected to move into the Junior Regional Performance Centres (JRPC’s) and these are held in 12 locations nationwide at U15, U16, U17 and U18.
Four squads are created from these 12 JRPC’s and participate in either a High Performance Assessment Camp (HIPAC’s) at U15 and U17 and inter JRPC competition at U16 and U18, from these successful participants move into the EH National Age Group Squads.
